Here are a list of books on bipolar disorder that we’ve bought in last 6 months. Since the condition affects people so differently, I’ve found it useful to get different perspectives. But the greatest benefit has come from interaction in the blogosphere, so don’t be shy – comments, questions and suggestions all welcome.

** All the Things We Never Knew: Chasing the Chaos of Mental Illness. Sheila Hamilton

I also highly recommend “An Unquiet Mind” by Kay Redfield Jamison who both has bipolar and researches bipolar. Plus she’s a really engaging writer. I read it right after was diagnosed and it helped me through a bunch of stuff. Looking forward to checking out what’s on your list! -LB

Sorry…her first name is Kay, not Jay. Typo. But a great book!

Fixed the typos. Thanks for the recommendation – Kay Redfield Jamison is certainly a recognised expert in the field. I recently read that she’ll be appearing briefly, as herself, in the upcoming film titled “Touched With Fire”, which was named after one of her books on bipolar disorder. Looks like a very interesting movie… thanks for your comment.
