Thanks to new blogger Un Break My Heart (poem below) for reblogging my post Dear Hypomanic Wife (first attempt at a poetic message to her) and my wife’s spontaneous reply.
Check out my wife’s next poetic creation, which was even better – let us know what you thought. Cheers
This day is not wasted. There are clouds going by in a teal blue sky. This day is not wasted. There are birds overhead, soaring high. This day is not wasted. Ther’s a table set from whence to look afar of the blue skies and the deep blue seas beneath the horizon.
This day is not wasted…

Well, here it is… The tag-along poem you’ve all been waiting for. Special thanks Jacqueline for arranging the exercise and hosting the party too.
I am constantly amazed at the new & creative ways to bring the blogosphere to ‘life’, promoting connection, love and support.
a cooking pot and twisted tales
Her eyes shone with tears
That clung to her lashes
She glanced at the ring
It’s twinkles brought back flashes
She knew in her heart,
she’d never forget this day.
The emotions she felt,
overwhelming- in a way.
–blue shoes and sashes
she knew where the stash is–
of chocolates liquor splashed,
frosted with white slashes…
Memories were there
Of Love and of laughter
A future there too
Of happily ever after
At last, he said it
It seemed like forever
But here and now
Her heart for him to keep
Forever.
She was anticipating all the joy he would bring
As the band struck a tune….
was it too soon?
the cat crossed their path quickly
And then it was time for giggling
She spent all that time, years
she would never…

In the spirit of the Valentine’s Day weekend, I have reblogged one of my first posts, an attempt at poetry/prose, written to my wife during the depths of our depression 1.5 years ago. This post also relates to yesterday’s Death is not Funny post and explains my blog’s tagline: Make Sweetness from the Bitterness.
Thanks to Jacqueline for the Valentines inspiration and wonderful idea for poem tag. Here’s my contribution:
The really special thing
About our love is this
When your not in my arms
Your pheromones I constantly miss!
thoughts inspired by Noah – Biblical and the modern movie version
read it slowly – then read it again.
in reference to the destruction of the world by water…
what will it look like? it feels like the end of everything. no. its the beginning of everything!
all beginnings come after something has finished. an ending. this ending feels scary. it is scary. the unknown. but faith / emunah can be found. after night comes day. after darkness comes light. the night is darkest, just before the light. after bitterness comes sweetness.
just like the pain of childbirth, definitely also a struggle for the fetus. the pressure of labor must feel like the beginning of the end, but it turns out to be the beginning of the beginning. the end of something becomes the beginning of something better. something sweeter. this pressure, this pain must be part of transition. growth…

I sometimes write about how healing blogging has been for me, too.
If you haven’t read my latest Funny Friday post, please do 😉
Ever since I joined a couple of support groups for my anxiety awhile back and now for my recovery from trauma, narcissistic abuse and others, I have found it immensely helpful.
What I didn’t realise was how healing it has been for me to have this blog and my facebook support page. I have not only shared my feelings & struggles, but also supported others. This is so valuable! People are made to reach out and connect with others and it is so lovely to see many others do the same. This community of bloggers who share posts about mental health and their own struggles, reduces the stigma and provides incredible validation.
Thank you to all my followers, those I follow and the many many other blogs I haven’t even discovered yet.
❤ to you all

What Anxious Mom wrote sounded exactly like it could have come from me – about how lucky I am to have such an amazing, supportive, loyal, loving, dedicated husband who loves me unconditionally and would do anything in his power to help me and make our relationship work and be strong.
He has loved the phrase “perfectly imperfect” (or is being “imperfectly perfect” actually even better?!?) ever since he first heard it and tells me and thinks I’m just that!
Just know that everything Anxious Mom said is how I feel about my husband, and also describes what he does when I’m down (or up!) and, I’d just like to say, directly to him –
Hubby, I love you!
I appreciate you!
I thank you!
Lee
ps See “First Time Blogging“, 21 Jan, for the full post, and please comment.
pps Hubby asked me to write, but didn’t tell me ‘what to write’ 😉

I saw this from someone else’s reblog. Mainly reblogging to have permanent record of amazing info about narcissistic abuse. How common is it for people to suffer from depression/anxiety or low self esteem, which often is the result of being made to feel “too sensitive, too weak, too stupid or too opinionated”, by a narcissistic parent or even sibling. Very interesting reading, also giving a sympathetic understanding of the narcissistic family member.
Narcissistic abuse syndrome is something I know all too well, as I grew up with 2 parents that are on the spectrum of narcissism, one of them having Narcissistic Personality Disorder and the other having a mix of Narcissism/Histrionic and Borderline Personality Disorder.
I have suffered from depression, anxiety, ptsd & low self esteem since I was a child and I never understood why I always felt so sad and so different to other children. This was the result of the abuse I suffered from my mother & father who didn’t know what ‘normal or healthy’ looked like. I was always made to feel like I was too sensitive, too weak, too stupid or too opinionated. I now know that I am none of those things! I did however carry the weight of the world on my shoulders, as my parents trained me well ‘to cater to theiremotional needs ahead…
